Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to some of the questions we’ve been asked most frequently so far. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, contact us.

How did Peak Study Resources start?

In 2002 four teachers working with Oxford Study Courses produced the first IB revision guides using their unique expertise and resources for preparing IB Diploma students for their final exams. Over the years that followed, the range grew to more than fifty titles covering 14 IB subjects.

In 2019, OSC announced it would stop publishing in order to focus on developing its IB courses in new locations around the world. The authors decided that they wanted to make sure the books were still available to IB students and schools and have come together under a new, independent publisher – Peak Study Resources.

Why can I see OSC books in your online store?

When OSC stopped publishing, there was a considerable amount of stock in hand. Rather than letting them be disposed of, we purchased the stock and continue to sell it as long as those books remain current.

What is the difference between the OSC and Peak books of the same title?

There is no major difference in the author’s content. In fact, OSC books published before 2016 will look identical on the inside. Peak Study Resources has re-typeset the content, with some minor edits and corrections. Peak will of course be publishing new and revised editions as syllabus changes occur and we grow the range.

Do you ship worldwide?

When Peak launched in the UK in late 2019, we took orders from students across the world on our online store. Since then, the pandemic had an impact on the reliability of deliveries to many countries, and we have been adding those back in to our destinations since 2021. The bigger impact has been Brexit, which made shipping to EU students much more costly, and we decided that it would be better to work with a network of existing booksellers. There is more information on our shipping information page.

Do you publish digital editions?

The Peak guides are designed for review – whether that is after class, for a test, to consolidate learning of a whole topic, or to prepare for final exams. Teachers often tell us, and studies have shown, that a printed book is the most effective format for this, especially where you use it to make your own notes, highlights and summaries and revisit them over time.

We do have online resources for many subjects, some of which were written to supplement the study guide content, such as our video solutions for practice questions in the maths books. We have not converted the printed guides into ebooks, however we have licensed the content to OSC who have incorporated it into their OSC Study app.
